Expression of Interest

Manitoba’s EOI system

The immigration candidates need to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) in order to receive a Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the Skilled Workers Overseas categories.

Under Manitoba’s system, such candidates are ranked out of 1,000 points for their original human capital factors like English or French language skills, education, work experience, Manitoba connections, and other factors.

In this latest draw, the successful candidates needed a score of at least 504 points to obtain a Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The Skilled Workers Overseas candidates needed a minimum score of 686 points.

About the Streams

The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories allow the province of Manitoba to nominate skilled workers who can support Manitoba’s labor market needs.

Those overseas need to have an established connection to the province of Manitoba which can be demonstrated through close family ties or friends in Manitoba, previous experience in the province of Manitoba, or an invitation under one of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Note: The candidates do not need to be physically present in Manitoba at the time of the application to be eligible. The Successful candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category must meet certain criteria as per the rules of Manitoba, such as having a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Manitoba.

So the international students that graduated from an educational institution in Manitoba may receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) under the International Education Stream if they have in-demand skills.
