Manitoba Invites 226 Immigration Candidates

Manitoba Invites 226 Immigration Candidates to apply for a Canadian Permanent Residence in the latest draw which held on 26th March 2020.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program issued (MPNP) issued 226 invitations to the candidates who applied for immigration and the applicant were skilled workers, international student graduates, and Express Entry.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program is part of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program which allows Manitoba to select a set number of economic immigration candidates each year. MPNP nominate through a variety of streams specific to labor market needs in the province.

The global health crisis due to COVID -19 has inevitably changed the international mobility and immigration landscape with the gradual closure of borders and sudden economic downturn. The federal government of Canada has announced last week that foreigners who have already made a strong commitment to work, study or settle in Canada will be exempt from travel bans. These exemptions came into effect on 26th March 2020.

The latest draw which held on 26th March 2020, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has invited 226 candidates from the MPNP’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba,  International Education, and Skilled Workers Overseas streams. Please find the details below for the streams invited:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 168
  • International Education Stream: 20
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 38

To be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence from the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, the immigration candidates must have to submit an Expression of Interest . Then the immigration candidate has to provide the required information on their education, work experience, skills in English or French and connections to Manitoba with the other required details. The Eligible profiles were awarded a score and entered into the relevant stream’s pool of candidates. The highest scores candidates were issued a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) for a provincial nomination through its regular draws. The 226 (LAA’s) issued in this draw, 29 went to Express Entry candidates and Candidates with a provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 CRS points which are effectively confirmed an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

In the Latest draw which held on 26th March 2020, the lowest score was 496 for Skilled Workers in Manitoba and 714 for Skilled Workers Overseas candidates. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is open to eligible for temporary foreign workers, the international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent job with their respected Manitoba employer. In this draw, the invitations bring the total issued by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) through these streams so far this year to 1,523.
