Manitoba issues 132 invitations

Manitoba issues 132 invitations in the latest Expression of Interest (EOI) draw which held on 23rd April 2020.

The Express Entry candidates among those issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence.

In the latest draw of Invitation to apply for a provincial nomination has been issued to 132 candidates in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest pool and including 7 Express Entry candidates. In this 23rd April draw, they issued invitations to candidates in Manitoba’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba,  Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams.

The province has issued 1,808 Letters of Advice to Apply to immigration candidates in these categories so far this year which was Manitoba’s 88th draw since the program began in the year April 2014.

Express Entry

Among the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued in the April 23 draw, 7 went to candidates with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system. The Candidates who qualify for the Express Entry pool are ranked based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score which considers human capital factors like age, work experience, education, and language ability.

The highest-scoring candidates in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) were invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through its regular draws from the Express Entry pool. Those who receive a provincial nomination were awarded an additional 600 CRS points. These points are effectively guaranteed an invitation to apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Express Entry candidates who received a provincial nomination from Manitoba in this draw declared a valid Express Entry ID and provided a job seeker validation code.

Skilled workers in Manitoba

The total number of 93 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) went to candidates with an Expression of Interest (EOI) in Manitoba’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream that provides a pathway to permanent residence for eligible temporary foreign workers in Manitoba and the international graduates of Manitoba post-secondary educational institutions.

In order to be considered, the candidates must be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer with the other criteria. The Skilled worker’s Expression of Interest (EOI) is given a score out of 1,000 and the highest-ranked are issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) and the lowest-ranked Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidate selected in this draw of 23rd April had a score of 489.

Skilled Workers Overseas

Another 25 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) went to candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. The Candidates selected under this category are invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

 In this recruitment, it can include overseas recruitment missions organized by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), often in association with the Manitoba employers. The Candidates for this stream are also ranked according to Manitoba’s Expression of Interest (EOI) scoring system.

The Skilled Worker Overseas candidates needed a score of 714 and above to be eligible for a Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the latest draw which held on 23rd April Expression of Interest (EOI) draw.

International Education

The Manitoba graduates with some certain in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream. In this stream which includes 3 sub-categories i.e.

  1. The Career Employment Pathway,
  2. The Graduate Internship Pathway, and
  3. The International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 14 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) to International Education Stream candidates in this draw and there is no Expression of Interest (EOI) minimum score was provided.
