British Columbia Invited 133 Candidates
British Columbia invited 133 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence through its latest Tech Pilot draw which held on 26th May 2020.
British Columbia issues more invitations in this draw than its previous Tech Draw. The Invitations were issued to Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates under the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration categories. In these categories, the minimum required score for the immigration candidates in both categories was 80.
In this draw, the minimum score remains just as low as B.C.’s May 12 Tech Pilot draw. The newest draw which held on 26th May saw 41 more ITAs issued than on the previous draw which was held on May 12. Under its Tech Pilot, British Columbia invites tech workers with a valid job offer in one of 29 in-demand technology occupations to apply for a Canadian permanent residence.
The Immigration Candidates for Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) must have the profiles under both B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination obtain an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System score.
The provincial nomination is assigned the most Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points under Express Entry. The candidates who obtain 600 CRS points essentially guarantees that an immigration candidate will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada permanent residence.
The purpose of the Tech Pilot is to help address the labor market needs of the British Columbia tech sector. Tech Pilot candidates must need to obtain a job offer that is a minimum of 1 year in length. There also needs to be at least 120 calendar days remaining in the candidate’s job tenure at the time the candidate submits their profile to British Columbia.
