Ontario Invites Express Entry Candidates With CRS 400

Ontario

Ontario held another Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draw Invites Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of 400 targeting skilled trades workers on June 17.

The invited candidates may be eligible for a provincial nomination under the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 758 invitations to the immigration candidates who may be eligible for the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream.

This is the largest number of candidates invited through Express Entry Skilled Trades stream in a single draw since January 18, 2018.

The invited immigration candidates had work experience as a tradesperson and had a profile in the Express Entry pool and they also had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 400 and 436.

The Express Entry is the system for 3 of economic-class immigration programs i.e.

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program,
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
  3. Canadian Experience Class.

The Express Entry candidates are given a score on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is based on original human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability in English or French.

If the immigration candidates who received a Notification of Interest (NOI) or the invitation from the province of Ontario will successfully obtain the provincial nomination. Then the candidates will be given an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These additional points will effectively guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Canada permanent residence in a regular Express Entry draw.

The total number of 948 Skilled Trades Stream candidates has been invited by the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) this year and one similar draw was held in April targeting specific trades occupations.

This is Ontario’s 2nd draw of the month. On June 3, the Ontario invited Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 358 to apply for a provincial nomination.

The Ontario’s assignment for this year is 7,600 principal applicants and over the course of the year which includes 250 nominations for temporary workers in an intermediate skilled occupation or National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill level C. In the last year 2019 over half of the Ontario’s 7,391 PNP recipients were Express Entry candidates.
