Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS): Proposed Criteria Changes (2019-2021)

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) will be introducing the changes to its Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) between the years 2019 and 2021. The following table provides a summary of these upcoming changes i.e.

A Language proficiency requirements  CLB/NCLC 4 CLB/NCLC 5 (for NOC 0, A and B occupations) No changes
An Education requirements (for all applicants except Post-Graduation Work Permit Holders) The Minimum High School in the applicant’s country of Origin The Minimum High School in the applicant’s country of Origin The Minimum High School equivalent to Alberta standard
An Education requirement (for Post-Graduation Work Permit Holders only) The Change in eligible Alberta post-secondary certificates/diplomas.

If the potential applicant is admitted and enrolled in an Alberta program on or after April 1, 2019, he or she must have a post-graduate certificate or diploma on the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) List of Alberta Advanced Education Approved Post-Secondary Credentials.

No changes to other eligible credentials (degrees and graduate-level certificates/diplomas)

The Change in eligible Alberta post-secondary certificates/diplomas.
