Alberta recent draw requires CRS score of at least 300

The past 4 Alberta Express Entry Stream draws in a sequel have invited candidates with less than CRS scores as 300. Alberta has invited more Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for a Canadian permanent residence.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program has released the details of the recent draw which held on March 18, they were 136 candidates have invited to apply through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. The Invited candidates had profiles in the federal Express Entry pool where they required a CRS score of at least 300. The immigration Candidates do not need a job offer in order to be invited through the Alberta Express Entry Stream and they must need to have profiles in the Express Entry system.

 The immigration candidates invited in the latest Alberta draw can now apply for a provincial nomination for a Canadian Permanent residence from the Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP). If the candidates successfully obtain the nomination then they will automatically get an additional 600 points toward their overall comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score in a subsequent Express Entry draw at the federal level which will surely receive an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The Express Entry system manages applications for 3 of economic class immigration programs i.e.

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program, and 
  3. Canadian Experience Class.

The candidates who are eligible for Express Entry were ranked on human capital factors like work experience, education, official language proficiency, and age. They are then given a CRS score and the highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence through its federal Express Entry draws.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Express Entry candidates must be working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s “economic development in order to be eligible for an invitation through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. The Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP) does not provide a list of eligible occupations because it is not necessary to have a job offer to be eligible for this stream but the AINP says it may give the more priority to the candidates who meet the following 3 criteria’s:

  1. a job offer or work experience in Alberta;
  2. a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution or a valid job offer; and
  3. a parent, child or sibling who already living in Alberta.

This year, Alberta has issued so far 887 invitations to Express Entry candidates. In the last year 2019; the Alberta issued a total number of 11,137 invitations through its Alberta Express Entry Stream.
