How to apply online: You can apply online for Canada Student Visa very conveniently on the Internet. You will require all scanned copies of your educational and required documents. So, before you begin, make sure that you have all the documents handy. Payments are accepted online too. Even though you are applying online, you will have to go to a Visa Application Center for a fingerprint scan and to hand your passport to the Visa officer.

Admission Procedure:

The planning for an application to a Canadian University, college or Institute has to be started in advance. The two major intakes are in the month of January and September and one rare intake may take place in the month of May depending on the selected program and institution. To apply, all students required to take up the IELTS and TOEFL exams.

Required Tests:

• The students from all over the world applying to Canadian Universities, Colleges or Institutes should be fluent in English.
• The students applying for a Diploma or Advanced Diploma required 6.0 in IELTS or 80 in TOEFL
• The students who are applying for masters required 6.5 bands in IELTS or 90 in TOEFL

Eligibility criteria to apply for Canada Student Visa:

• The first step you should or your visa consultant applies for a University, Institute or College.
• In the second step, you would have been accepted by a designated learning institute (DLI).
• The third step is to prove that you have adequate funds to pay your tuition fee and living expenses.
• The fourth step is to prove that you have a clean background and no criminal record. The aspirants need to produce a police certificate to prove that they don’t have any criminal charges or background.
• The fifth step is to do a health checkup and produce a medical certificate that certifies that you are in good health.
• The fifth step is that at the time of the visa interview, you need to convince the visa officer that you will leave Canada once you complete your studies.

Documents required for application of Canada Student Visa:

Valid Passport:

You need a valid passport to apply for a student visa, according to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), it is very important that you have a passport which validity that extends to cover that you stay in Canada. For example, if you plan to travel to Canada for education in Jan 2019 intake for 2years course then your passport should be valid for at least Jan 2021.

Acceptance of University/ College/ Designated Learning Institute:

You required an acceptance letter from a University/College/Institute from where you are planning to attend and Designated Learning Institute is the University that is recognized by the Canadian Immigration Department. Proof of Funds:

While applying for Student Visa, you would have to show the proof of Funds. You have to prove that you would have enough funds to pay your tuition fees and living expenditure of a minimum of one year. According to Canada Immigration, a student would require at least Canadian $10,000 for every year and also need to prove that they have enough Canadian dollars so that they can return to their home country. While filling the application form, you have to show the proof of Fees paid which is either full fees or at least 1^st semester to the University or Institute and also need to show that you have open a blocked account which has at least Canadian $10,000 and for Quebec you have to show minimum Canadian $11,000 to $12000 for every year of your stay.

Passport Size Photographs:

If you are applying offline, then you need 2 passport size photographs which is not more than 3 months old. The photo must be taken in a plain white or any other light-colored background with enough contracts between the backgrounds and clothing, make sure the applicant’s features are clearly distinguishable against the background. The standard size of the image is 35mm x 45mm and the photograph must show the full front view of the head, with the face should be middle of the photograph.

If you are applying online, then you must procure a digital photograph which should not be more than 4mb. Make sure other requirements are standard and about neutral facial expressions, plain white or any other light-colored background with no headgear unless for religious purpose. The standard size of the image is 35mm x 45mm and the photograph must show the full front view of the head, with the face should be middle of the photograph.

Immigration Medical Examination (IME):

According to Canadian Immigration, International applicants required to undergo Immigration Medical Examinations from empaneled doctors. The applicants would have to book an appointment and visit the listed doctors for a medical examination a week before they start their visa application. Make sure you should give enough time to the doctors so that they can upload all the necessary document s and select the nearest empaneled doctor from the list which is advised by an expert or visa consultant.

The physician will perform your complete body checkup and may refer for chest X rays and other laboratory tests and the reports directly send to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

IELTS/TOEFL

All applicants are advised to have your English Language Proficiency Score before you start your visa application process, as you would have to submit your IELTS/TOEFL score to confirm your admission to the Canadian University/Institute.

Statement of Purpose:

All the applicants are advised while applying for a Canada Student Visa, you would be required to submit an essay stating the purpose of your trip to Canada and why you have chosen the particular University/Institute. However, it’s optional in the checklist but we strongly recommend that you to submit.

Credit Card:

If you are applying online then you required a credit card to make a payment for your Canada Visa application fee which is Canadian $160. Make sure that you use your or your family member or friend’s Credit Card that you have the explicit permission to do so as the system accepts only Credit cards and please avoid Debit card to make a payment for Canada visa application fee.

All the international applicants are advised that if you are applying online then you would need to have access to a Digital Scanner and if you are applying offline then you should have original copies handy for all the above-mentioned documents. It is very important to note that while applying online you would be required to download a few documents, need to fill them, Print them, Sign them and upload them. Make sure your system allows you to upload a very good quality Digital image.

All the international applicants are advised that during the Personal Interview, keep your entire documents handy as the interviewer may request as these documents will prove your Academic or Financial status. The following are the documents requested to keep handy i.e.

• Transcripts, Degrees, Diplomas, all certificates from School, Colleges, and University you attended.
• Reports of IELTS/TOEFL/GRE/GMAT/SAT
• Proof of Funds for your Education, Living Expenses and Travelling cost.
• Make sure that your intent to depart from Canada upon completion of your course of study or before the visa expires.
