Alberta Invites 132 Candidates in latest Express Entry Draw
Express Entry candidates need 400 CRS score to receive an invitation to apply for a Provincial Nomination Program.
Alberta issued 132 invitations to candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool which held on 5th December.
The invitations or notifications of interest (NOI) went to express entry candidates with CRS scores of 400 and up. The Alberta Express Entry System allows the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to select eligible candidates with a profile in the Federal Express Entry System
An Express Entry system manages the pool of candidates for three (3) of Canadas main Economic Class immigration programs i.e.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination from Alberta receive an extra 600 points towards their CRS score which are effectively guaranteed an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in a draw from the Express Entry pool.
The cut-off score of 400 points in this latest invitation round is significantly lowered the cut-off scores for draws conducted through the Express Entry System itself this year and lower score drawn so far is 2019 in an Express Entry draw involving all programs i.e. Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class which manages was 438.
While a job offer or previous work experience in Alberta is not required to be eligible, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) says it may give priority to the candidates who have the following:
- A job offer or work experience in Alberta
- A Degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a job offer or
- A Parent or Family Member already living in Alberta
The recent draw which held on 5th December brings the total number of Express Entry candidates invited to apply for a provincial nomination for a Canadian Permanent Residence through the Alberta Express Entry Stream this year to 6,752.
