If you are married or have a common-law partner then one of you must be the main applicant and this person will submit a profile and list the spouse or partner in it. The main applicant should be one of you most likely to the following:
- Meet the eligibility requirements
- Earn higher points in the selection factors if you are applying under the Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Earn the maximum points in the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
