Manitoba Issues 124 Invitations to the immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence.

International student graduates and skilled workers both in Manitoba and abroad were invited to apply for Canada’s provincial nomination. It is the 91st Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) draw which held on 4th June 2020.

The total numbers of 124 immigration candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) distributed the invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to the immigration candidates who were eligible for the following streams:

This brings the total number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued to immigration a candidate this year was up to 2,154. Out of 124 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued, 9 went to candidates who had profiles in the Express Entry pool.

Express Entry manages the applications for 3 federal immigration streams i.e.

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSWP), 
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program(FSTP), and 
  3. Canadian Experience Class(CEC).

The eligible candidates are ranked on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which gives them a score based on human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability in English or French. The highest-scoring candidates are issued Invitations to Apply (ITA) through its subsequent federal Express Entry draws.

If the 9 Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) candidates, who received a Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the latest draw which held on 4th June will successfully receive the provincial nomination and they will be awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. The extra points which effectively guarantee that the immigration candidate will be selected in a regular Express Entry draw.

Expression of Interest (EOI)

In order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, the immigration candidates need to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

An Expression of Interest (EOI) is an online profile that is ranked out of a CRS score of 1,000. These points are awarded for a candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba, and proficiency in English or French, along with the other factors.

In the latest draw of 4th June, the immigration candidates invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream and had a score of 523. The lowest-ranked candidate invited from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream who had a score of 703.

Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba

The Skilled Workers Overseas Category allows the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) to select and nominate skilled foreign workers who can help and support Manitoba’s labor market.

The immigration Candidates must have a well-established connection to Manitoba such as close family members or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, along with the other requirements. They do not need to be in Manitoba at the time of application in order to be eligible for this.

The immigration candidates who invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were invited directly by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

The candidates who invited through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category must have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer along with the other required criteria.

The Manitoba graduates with certain in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream and in this stream, it includes three sub-categories i.e.

  1. Career Employment Pathway
  2. Graduate Internship Pathway, and
  3. International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 19 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) to International Education Stream candidates in this latest draw.
